Chuck Barrett grew up in Panama City, Florida. After high school, he moved to Alabama for six years, which included attending Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Aviation Management. He then took a job in Mississippi for three years flying charter, air ambulance, and flight instructing. He now resides in Northeast Florida where he has spent the last twenty-five years as an air traffic controller.

Chuck began writing his first novel in 1998. He finished the first rough draft in late 2007, after taking a six-year hiatus. By then though, the political climate had changed necessitating a complete rewrite of the novel.
